This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced surgical UGI ANP wishing to work within the surgical team. They will be a highly specialised role model and leader for members of staff, playing a major role in the continuous development of the service across the Trust.

You should have a clear understanding of the role of the ANP as a clinical expert, leader, researcher and educator. You should also be committed to the development of specialist nursing practice and demonstrate evidence of on-going professional and academic development. A successful appointment will depend upon interview and fulfilling service requirements.

You should have experience in physical examination, prescribing, clinical management and triage assessment. The role will involve the telephone triage of patients, reviewing in the Clinical Assessment Unit, admit and discharge patients as well as liaising with wider members of the MDT. Co-ordination of the surgical team is required along with communication with other hospitals.

Non-medical prescribing and advanced physical assessment is a pre-requisite for this post.
