The NIHR Specialist Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) for Cancer is based at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust (RM) and The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR), which together form the largest Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Europe. Our BRC’s excellence in biomedical research and experimental medicine, together with our strategic partnerships with industry, cancer charities and NIHR infrastructure, ensure that we can translate scientific advances about cancer into real benefit for patients. We aim to deliver improved targeted therapies for all cancer patients through personalised and stratified treatment specific to individual genetic, molecular and functional characteristics.

The West Wing Clinical Research Centre (WWCRC) is a clinical research facility at the Sutton site of The Royal Marsden Hospital which will provide a dedicated space and a comfortable environment for patients participating in clinical trials.  WWCRC has a dedicated laboratory facility for the processing of pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamics blood samples, essential for clinical trials as well as a dedicated pharmacy room for rapid dispensing of clinical trial drugs.  It incorporate space for the Clinical Research Teams to operate with consulting rooms for research clinics, which encompass consent, screening, baseline and on-treatment patient visits.  There will be a limited number of day recovery beds for patients undergoing research-related per-protocol tumour biopsies/procedures.  WWCRC is located in the West Wing of the hospital on the first floor
We are looking for an outstanding individual to work on the West Wing Clinical Research Centre in the following position:

Sister/Charge Nurse

We are looking for an experienced individual with excellent leadership and communication skills, the ability to exercise judgement, passion for their work, flexibility and a strong patient focus.  The candidate must possess an understanding of the research process and the regulatory bodies which governs this and the audit process. You will lead a team of nurses in delivering clinical trials to a wide range of tumour types and several tumour groups for the trust. Communication is paramount in establishing relationship with multi-disciplinary teams internally and externally to the trust and ensuring the trials are delivered in a safe manner. You will be responsible for a team of staff and developing the services to meet the needs for the trial activity.
