Are you interested in joining a friendly supportive team on Smithers Ward? We are looking for a motivated and caring band 6 senior staff nurse.

Smithers ward is a busy 20 bedded ward. We care for patients with breast, lung, head and neck, gynaecological cancers and patients receiving radionuclide therapies. The treatments given on the ward include chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery. We also have good support from the Hospital’s palliative care team.

The successful candidate must show a commitment to high quality patient care and good team work.

You must be a positive role model and have a willingness to learn and develop. There are many opportunities available and Smithers ward is a great place to learn new skills as you will be supported by a very experienced team.

As a senior staff nurse you would be expected to support the ward sister with managerial duties and this would include supporting and developing junior members of the team to ensure high standards of care are maintained.

This opportunity would give you the experience to learn and develop in the management pathway.   The successful candidate will be expected to work a mixture of day duty and night shifts, weekdays and weekends. Informal visits are encouraged.
