The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust has an international reputation for high quality patient care, education and research. Its partnership with the Institute of Cancer Research has created the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe and is the only institution to be designated a National Biomedical Research Centre for Cancer.

The freedom this brings means that we can respond much faster to discoveries and developments in cancer care. We are using this new flexibility to deliver the very best leading edge treatment for all our patients.

The role of the CBU Coordinator is to ensure a high quality service is provided for patients and specialties at all times. The post holder will provide timely, efficient and effective operational management support for the Cancer Services Division assisting the operational management team as required and ensuring that these services are responsive, innovative and provided to the highest possible standard. The units include inpatient and outpatient services.

The appointee will contribute to the provision of the admission processes including waiting list management and cancer pathway management, and will be expected to identify and implement initiatives to improve services in consultation with the Assistant CBU Manager.

The appointee will need to be flexible, keen to embrace change and have the ability to work in a team, as an essential component of this job. An ability to communicate effectively at all levels within a complex multidisciplinary environment is essential.

You should have management experience in an acute healthcare setting. Well-developed leadership and influencing skills are a must, together with proven financial ability.
