We are looking for an enthusiastic physicist with experience in radiotherapy physics to join the Joint Department of Physics at the Sutton branch of the Royal Marsden Hospital to support the clinical implementation of the recently installed Elekta MR Linac.

The post holder will be part of an interdisciplinary research team tasked with commissioning and implementing the MR Linac for clinical use. Dedicate research time for the implementation of new prostate treatment protocols will be provided.

Applicants should have a good honours degree in physics or a closely related discipline, plus an MSc related to radiotherapy physics. Experience of treatment planning and an appreciation of QA and dosimetry are desirable.

The Radiotherapy Department in Sutton has 7 Elekta clinical, and one research linear accelerators, with either MLCi or Agility MLCs. Additional equipment includes EPID portal imaging on all linacs, Cone Beam CT on 6 linacs and a programme of in-vivo EPID dosimetry. Treatment planning systems include Monaco, Pinnacle and RayStation. Conformal, stereotactic, IMRT, VMAT and 4D planning techniques are in routine use, with imaging from CT, PET-CT, and MR scanners.

This position is partially funded by the Biomedical Research Centre at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and The Institute of Cancer Research, The Rosetrees Trust and Cancer Research UK.
