A vacancy has arisen for a band 6, to work in the Clinical Assessment Unit (CAU), Royal Marsden Hospital, Sutton Branch. The unit triages, treats and transfers non-elective cancer patients presenting unwell as a consequence of their disease and/or treatment(s). Elective procedures are also accommodated within the unit, i.e. interventional radiological procedures, blood product transfusions, wound dressings, ascitic drains, etc.

The post holder will be working within a small team, directly involved with the assessment, planning and delivery of care of cancer patients with emergencies related to their disease, treatment and/or procedure(s). The role requires flexibility  approach to change as the work load, patient turnover and acuity levels are unpredictable and challenging at times. It is a good opportunity for an individual seeking to develop their physical assessment and history taking skills and acquire/develop acute oncology and managerial experience.
