Applications from HCPC registered and experienced scientists are invited to join this diagnostic laboratory service which forms part of the Trust’s Specialist Integrated Haematological Malignancies Integrated Diagnostic Service (SIHMDS) providing a service for both internal and external clinicians.

The core element of the work is flow cytometry for diagnosis and disease monitoring of leukaemias/lymphomas using  BD FACSCanto II instrumentation. The laboratory also performs CD34 enumeration and T-cell subset estimation for DLI in support of the Trust’s transplant programme. The successful candidate would be expected to participate in an out of hours service for weekends and Bank Holidays.

Extensive experience of immunophenotyping by flow cytometry is essential and  knowledge of interpretation and reporting of results in the context of haematological malignancies would be an advantage however full training in this area will be provided. The applicant would require good interpersonal and communication skills and a high degree of professionalism.
