Magnetic Resonance (MR) Clinical Scientist (locum)
Band 7

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is a tertiary referral centre for cancer treatment and together with its academic partner, the Institute of Cancer Research, forms the largest comprehensive Cancer Centre in Europe. The two MRI Units of the Trust, based in Sutton (Surrey) and Chelsea (London), provide clinical services, and host substantial programmes of internationally leading research. The MR clinical service is operated by the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, together with substantial research activities supported by the CR-UK Cancer Imaging Centre, the NIHR Clinical Research Facility and Biomedical Research Centre. There are two 1.5T  and a 3T system, together with an MR-Linac at Sutton and 1.5T and 3.0T at Chelsea. Further systems are planned at Sutton and Chelsea.

We are recruiting a Physicist to join the MR Physics team with responsibility for delivering MR services to the Trust. This includes safety, maintenance of equipment, training; support of radiology, radiotherapy and clinical units; service development and hospital-based research projects. There are substantial opportunities for synergy with research programmes and for translation of basic research developments to improved patient care. The post provides an opportunity to work in an exciting environment at the cutting edge of cancer diagnosis and treatment.

The post is a one year Band 7 appointment, based at Sutton. Applicants for this post should have experience in MR physics and clinical applied research.
