The Royal Marsden Foundation Trust together with its academic partner The Institute of Cancer Research, form the only specialist cancer NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), receiving £43m over five years to support translational clinical research into cancer diagnosis and treatment. The joint institution demonstrates breadth and depth in experimental cancer research, and provides a highly active and effective clinical research environment, with a critical mass of experienced internationally renowned clinicians and biomedical scientists engaged in leading-edge translational research. The BRC puts patients at the centre of all its activities with Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement being a very important part of its work.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Royal Marsden as a Digital Platform Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPI/E) Coordinator.
The post will play a crucial role in the development and coordination of an online platform for facilitating Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPI/E) in research at The Royal Marsden, encouraging collaboration between researchers, patients and the public. The platform aims to capture the public’s vast experience, ideas, and opinions about cancer, health and biomedical research which affect their lives.
Candidates must have experience of stakeholder engagement, particularly patient and public involvement and engagement and of communicating with members of the public from a wide range of backgrounds in a professional capacity. A working knowledge of the benefits, issues and initiatives related to PPI/E is essential.
