Is providing excellent nursing care and getting the basics right one of your key drivers? Do you love developing others to become excellent at what they do? Is making a difference and doing the right thing fundamental to you? If your answer to these questions is yes, the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse role may be right for you.

Great Ward Sisters and Charge Nurses have a strong sense of ownership of their wards and love to be in charge. They’re honest and straightforward and they have high standards. They thrive on the busy nature of the role, they love being on top of things, they have a lot of drive and they keep going when things are tough.

The job isn’t for everyone but for those who have the right strengths and motivators it’s energising, rewarding and they love it.

The successful candidate will be an oncology or surgical nurse with proven leadership skills and the vision and passion to help develop a service and optimise high quality patient care.  Being a good team player they will work with the Matron and nursing team leaders to help foster good communication and improved processes to enhance the patient pathway. You must possess a first level degree and a relevant mentorship qualification. You will also have significant relevant experience in a surgical or cancer setting. This is a demanding but very rewarding role with a Trust that is committed to the ongoing development of its staff.  An ideal next step if you have the right blend of skills and experience to join us.
