An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 or Band 6 Staff Nurse within the newly refurbished Markus ward. We are looking for an experienced, motivated and dynamic oncology nurse to join our team. Markus ward is a single roomed Private Patient medical oncology unit specialising in the delivery of inpatient chemotherapy regimens and the management of symptoms caused by cancer and its various treatment modalities.

The post requires a nurse that demonstrates oncology knowledge, is compassionate, caring; works well within a team and is committed to supporting and developing other members of the team. Excellent interpersonal skills are required to foster and maintain communication with the wider multidisciplinary and administrative teams.

Band 5 or band 6 will be offered to the successful candidate dependent on oncology and leadership experience. The band 6 post holder will be required to assume responsibility for coordinating the ward and experience with working with patients undergoing chemotherapy is essential. There would also be potential opportunity for band 5 to band 6 development within the post for band 5 candidates with oncology experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in an established team with a diverse patient group and with great potential for clinical and educational development. You will be given opportunities to pursue study for either the BSc (Hons) in Cancer Care or/and MSc Advanced Practice (Cancer) at the Royal Marsden School of Cancer Nursing and Rehabilitation on site at Chelsea.
