An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly team on Wilson ward.
We are looking an enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed band 6 nurse, with an interest in all aspects of oncology; surgical and medical. On Wilson we care for a variety of patients. Our main patient cohort is surgical, but we also care for patients requiring chemotherapy or requiring care for complications of chemotherapy.

You will need to be proactive, have excellent communication skills, be able to provide the highest quality care and demonstrate a desire to learn and understand the complex pathway of patients undergoing oncology treatment. Experience in working in a busy surgical environment and having been in charge on shift are important. Good teamwork skills are essential.

You should have a desire and willingness to learn, which can be captured through excellent learning opportunities both formal through the Royal Marsden School and at our numerous in house study days. You will be expected to have some insight into how a ward and shift runs and how your role impacts on this, with a desire to be involved in service improvements within the ward.
