The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust has an international reputation for high quality patient care, education and research and its partnership with the Institute of Cancer Research has created the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe. 

The Trust wishes to appoint a Theatre Scheduling Officer (Band 4) to work at the Fulham Road (Chelsea) site. The post holder will be working closely with the Gynaecology and Urology surgical teams, both NHS and Private Patients. The role is responsible for the coordination and management of the surgical waiting list. This includes liaison with patients regarding admission dates, coordination with theatres and the surgical team and with the pre-assessment and MDT coordinator team.

The role requires excellent organisational and inter-personal skills to ensure patients receive timely treatment in line with clinical urgency and national waiting times guidance including 18 weeks and the cancer waiting times targets.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
