The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is one of the leading cancer centres in the world and has an international reputation for the care and treatment it provides. The Royal Marsden serves a local, regional, national and international population from two hospital sites, Chelsea and Sutton.

We are seeking an experienced Nurse leader to help operationally and clinically manage our Acute Oncology, Clinical Assessment and Royal Marsden Macmillan Hotline Services across both the Chelsea and Sutton site. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced senior nurse with oncology or acute care skills to enhance their leadership skills in a Matron post. Working alongside the Divisional Director for Clinical Services, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the Acute Oncology Team, Clinical Assessment Unit and the Royal Marsden Macmillan Hotline, a 24 hour patient helpline.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a high level of skill in oncology and acute care and have a physical assessment and oncology qualification. They will also be working towards or will have completed a higher degree in a relevant field. They will be a flexible, approachable and dynamic leader with excellent communication skills and a track record that indicates their passion for supporting staff and helping to improve patients’ experience.
