Band 7 Practice Facilitator – Chelsea

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated therapy radiographer to join the MDT in Radiotherapy at the Royal Marsden in Chelsea. This role will be instrumental in continuing to develop new ways of training clinical oncology SpRs and radiographers. The role will develop expertise in the treatment pathways for patients receiving radiotherapy to Breast, Prostate, Lung and palliative sites initially. As the facilitator you will be responsible for developing a training programme with a supporting competency framework in pre treatment and dosimetry for these treatment sites.

The post holder will also be responsible for evaluating the training outcomes for future improvement as well as exploring the options to develop paperless and virtual components for greater access to the tools for all trainees.In addition the post holder will be required to work clinically in the treatment section for 2 days per week. This post is one of several new ventures for radiotherapy at the Trust where we are working and learning across professions and we hope that this role will enhance our training programmes for all professionals as well as ultimately improving patient experience. Within the role you will need excellent communication skills to liaise with the multi disciplinary team in addition to teaching.We are looking for a practitioner with an excellent technical background, advanced imaging competencies and the ability to self motivate and work in a multi disciplinary team. The ideal candidate will be able to provide leadership skills whilst pursuing new ways of working.
