Specialty Doctor - Haemato-onology

We are currently accepting applications for the position of Specialty Doctor in Haematology within Private Care at the Royal Marsden NHS Trust, based mainly at our Chelsea branch of the Trust.

This is a full-time position.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced doctor to work closely with, and learn from, some of the world’s leading consultants in haematology and oncology. The post holder will be responsibly for the day-to-day running of the Private Care haematology unit at Chelsea.

The successful applicant would be working closely with the consultant, and where appropriate he/she will contribute to outpatient clinics, consultations, ward rounds and multi-displinary team meetings. The specialty doctor post will be responsible for medically assessing patients in line with the consultants treatment plans and ensuring lead consultants are kept informed. The post holder will work closely with the nursing and pharmacy teams, as well as front of house teams on the units to achieve an excellent streamlined service for patients and their relatives.

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust has an international reputation for high quality patient care, education and research and its partnership with the Institute of Cancer Research means it is the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Europe. Although this is not a training post, the Trust is committed to supporting the ongoing professional development for all staff.

Applicants should have at least 3 years medical experience following full registration with the General Medical Council. It is also desirable that you will have at least 1 year general oncology experience. Qualification to MRCP or equivalent is also desirable.
