Band 7 - Fixed Term Maternity Cover

We are seeking an experienced enthusiastic and motivated Sarcoma Clinical Nurse Specialist who can deliver exceptional care to Private Patients.  The post holder is expected to lead the private specialist nursing service for sarcoma and actively work with consultants, other sarcoma specialists and colleagues within the Royal Marsden, other hospitals and the community to provide seamless co-ordination of care across the patient pathway to maximize patient satisfaction and outcomes. The post holder will also provide high quality specialist nursing knowledge for patients, their families and other healthcare professionals in the care and treatments associated with sarcoma. You will enjoy the opportunity to work alongside internationally renowned surgeons and oncologists developing your career within a highly professional and supportive environment.

You will have experience in the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with sarcoma with a good knowledge of all treatment modalities associated with breast cancer and the complexities involved in caring for this group of patients. The successful applicant will also be required to demonstrate an understanding of the private healthcare sector and the specific needs and expectations of this group of patients. You will be working very closely with the Trust’s consultant surgeons and oncologists to provide the highest level of support for private patients within the sarcoma unit.

You will have a clear understanding of the role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist as a clinical expert, leader, researcher and educator. You will also be committed to the development of specialist nursing practice and demonstrate evidence of on-going professional and academic development.

You will also need to have successfully completed a first degree and have either attained your Masters degree or willing to consider further study.

Our Private Care team runs the most successful NHS private patient unit in the UK and all of the income generated is reinvested in research, facilities and clinical care for the benefit of all our NHS and private patients.  In 2020 we will be opening our new cancer centre for private patients located in Cavendish Square, Marylebone central London.
