CCU Staff Nurse Band 6, Nurse Recruitment Day - Chelsea

Interviews 30th November 2018

Are you an enthusiastic, motivated experienced nurse with a post qualification intensive care course looking for a new career opportunity?

Why not make a great decision, come and join our world class team of nurses and be part of a centre of excellence with an international reputation and a commitment to developing your nursing career.

The state of the art Critical Care Unit (CCU) at The Royal Marsden, Chelsea, facilitates the provision of exceptional treatment and care to patients throughout critical phases of their caner journey.  The 16 bed CCU is the only level 3 critical care facility dedicated entirely to cancer patients in the UK and boasts some of the best survival rates for critically ill haemato-oncology patients in Europe.

At the heart of everything we do within this highly technical area is the patient, often immediately post major, complex cancer surgery under a range of specialties, or experiencing acute complications of their cancer treatment.

We aspire to be compassionate, supportive, personal and open; patient and family experience is central to everything we do.  Together with solid clinical and technical skills, we expect a deep awareness of the special needs of our patients, along with the ability to support and care for them and their families throughout their stay.

Here are a few reasons you should join us;

  • We're outstanding! –The CQC has rated The Royal Marsden as 'Outstanding'
  • Our quality of care– we have an overall patient experience rating of 9/10, the highest score for any Trust (Care Quality Commission Inpatient Survey 2015)
  • Our commitment to our nurses– we provide our nurses with the training, support and staffing levels that enable them to provide the best care to patients
  • Our breadth of nursing roles– our nurses work across all aspects of nursing, including general oncology, critical care, theatres, ambulatory care, paediatrics, haematology, private care and in the community
  • Our international leadership– from establishing the first worldwide Clinical Nurse Specialist roles to The Royal Marsden Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures - the go-to reference for nurses worldwide - The Royal Marsden has been at the forefront of innovation in nursing for decades.
  • Award Winner – The Royal Marsden has recently won ‘Best UK employer of the year’ at the Nursing Times Workforce Summit Awards.
  • Development Opportunities – we offer a broad range of learning and development opportunities including access to our leading education specialists at The Royal Marsden School as well as being affiliated to Kingston and St Georges London University.
  • Reward & Benefits – generous Staff Benefits and Rewards programme, such as season ticket loan, cycle to work and car lease schemes, discounted gym membership, weekly yoga and fitness sessions, massage, osteopathy and many more.
