An opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse / AHP to improve the quality of life for people affected by lymphoedema by joining our lymphoedema service. Many people are affected by lymphoedema, or face a life-long risk of its development following treatment for cancer.

This post offers the opportunity to gain the experience, skills and knowledge required to help patients care for their swelling at all stages of their cancer journey which can then be developed further or utilised within the clinical setting. Your ability to provide practical advice and help on how best to manage lymphoedema will have a long-term impact on patients quality of life.

Working closely with senior members of the lymphoedema team, you will be an integral member of Therapy Services and develop positive approaches to the holistic management of cancer-related lymphoedema, learning to tailor each patient’s treatment to their individual needs.

You will need good communication skills to provide high quality care for individual patients and will utilise well developed time management and organizational skills to contribute to the provision and smooth running of a high quality lymphoedema service. The post will be supported with a comprehensive training programme and will utilize a competency framework to assist in acquisition of the skills required.
