The Royal Marsden Hospital is one of Europe’s largest Oncology centres and was the world’s first hospital dedicated to cancer research, diagnosis, treatment and education, with sites in Chelsea and Sutton our new Cavendish Square site opening in Autumn 2020.

We are currently inviting applications for an experienced full time band 8A Cross-Sectional Superintendent Radiographer to be responsible for the operational management and to lead the clinical service for Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging at our new Private Patient Cavendish Square site.


Key skills required:

• Applicants should be able to demonstrate post graduate experience sufficient for the role.
• Must be able to demonstrate wide and significant clinical CT and MRI experience.
• Highly desirable for the post-holder to have undertaken post-graduate study at Masters level, up to a post-graduate diploma in MRI and/or CT.
• Previous cannulation experience would be desirable.

The successful candidate should have proven extensive post graduate experience and a sound appreciation of cross sectional imaging and oncology, be an innovative, highly motivated radiographer, with exceptional supervisory, training and leadership skills, who is able to take the CT and MRI service forward.
Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential, along with self-motivation, effective planning and an analytical approach to work.
The candidate must also demonstrate a commitment to professional development and show a keen interest in the future of their profession and the Diagnostic Imaging services. They will be expected to support both the service and its staff in continuing to maintain and develop the highest standards of imaging. In return the successful applicant will be offered a high standard of support towards their career pathway.

Additional information:

The Diagnostic Imaging service at Cavendish Square provides an essential Private patient service to the hospital and will offer CT with dual energy, MRI 3T, Mammography, Ultrasound as well as general X-Ray. We have been awarded QSI accreditation in March 2018.

Our partnership with The Institute of Cancer Research and other key organisations means we offer access to the newest clinical trials and clinical trials of novel anti-cancer agents, all imaging modalities are fundamental to this process and forefront techniques and protocols are constantly being evolved within Radiology across all our sites.
